Winter cabin trip

We went to the cabin the day after Christmas and all seemed well with the weather. We got up the canyon and got all dressed and started heading to the cabin. The weather started to get uglier and the visibility was low. There was a lot of powder and we kept getting stuck. We were about halfway to the cabin when we got really stuck and didn't know how we would get to the cabin. George didn't think it was scary, but I was a little bit scared. We were stuck in the cold and I was worried about our kids being cold and grandma didn't have snowpants on. It was scary to think about freezing! We said lots of prayers and ended up being rescued by a group of men. I will forever be grateful for those men!
When we got to the cabin, it took a long time to defrost and the generator was dead. Lucckily we had a warm cabin with gas heaters and lamps. It was roughing it as far as the cabin is concerned. I actually liked it.
The next day we ate breakfast and then packed up. I felt like we should've stayed at the cabin for a week considering how hard it was to get there, but we had to get back. Lauren had gone though most of her diapers in a short amount of time so we couldn't stay long, plus we had to be back for church. The weather was much better and we didn't have a problem getting back to the cars. I rode with the kids in the pod and Lauren fell asleep. It was an interesting trip to the cabin, but as great as it always is. Lots of fun to be with family!

snow clothes are the cutest!

"I'm ready to go!"

Busted!
She LOVES the little things she finds at the cabin

Trying to stop Lauren from running around so we could warm her up.
"Katie, can I borrow your light? Sure. Thanks, see ya!" Max kept stealing the only light they had on the loft. haha
