Birthday lunch for mom

We were able to meet for our wonderful mother's birthday and have lunch at Paradise Cafe. Its always fun to get together to celebrate, but especially to celebrate mom. She does so much for our family and is a wonderful example for all of us to follow. We love you mom! Thanks for having so many kids so we can get together for birthday lunches so frequently!

Playtime with cousins

We have had lots of opportunities to play with family this summer and Max has loved it! He loves his cousins and they sure love him too. I love watching them interact with each other even though he is a lot younger than most of them.

Demolition derby

George's mom invited us to the Utah County demolition derby and I have to say its the best one I've ever been to! There were cars crashing and flipping over all over the place. It was awesome! Unfortunately, Max wasn't feeling too great, but he still talks about cars crashing so he still enjoyed it a little bit. Thank you Patterson family for an amazing show!

Bear lake 2012

Bear lake was a blast, as usual. It's always great to have everyone together! This year we had some unique/strange things happen. Sam, the dog, got sprayed by a skunk. I guess it's inevitable that that darn skunk we visit every year finally got one of us. At least it wasn't one of the many small humans that usually provoke it. We were also fortunate to witness the baptisms of 2 children, Landon and McKinley. It was a special experience and one I'm sure they will never forget. Luckily the water wasn't even that cold this year. With so many kids running around I'm surprised our in-house doctor hasn't had to be used before, but this year Taylor cut open his chin and got stitches right on top of a picnic table. Luckily his dad was mostly prepared to fix him up and we had some experienced helpers (myself, Kari and Shane-who held the flashlight with so much style :) ) We had the most beautiful weather and the water was perfect! Max LOVED playing in the dirt 24/7 and he had so much fun. I love this annual tradition!
This is how we announced the new baby

video overload

These videos are just too cute to not post on the blog. Max loves to watch himself in these videos. It's
so cute! And of course, he's not wearing clothes which is our new norm.

What would I do without this boy?

Max's personality has been really shining through in the last little while. He talks all the time and has a really good ear for sounds, meaning that he is the great imitator and mimics everything he hears. He loves to run around in just a diaper and asks for me to take off his clothes every afternoon. He loves coloring in all forms and stickers are the best! He loves to watch videos of himself and thinks they are so funny! He loves cars and swimming and doing anything that will give him a laugh.

Swimming with the cousins

Swimming always cheers Max up. He loves the water.
Daddy helped Max build a track for his cars. He loves cars!

We sure do love having this little guy around!

Pioneer day 5k

George decided to sign up for a Pioneer day 5k, which was located near Timpview. He signed up just a few days before, which caught me off guard so I didn't run with him. Max and I were the cheerleaders. He did really good, but wished there weren't so many hills. Afterwards, they kept announcing that there were free hot air balloons rides so we decided to check it out. I figured we would probably never ride in one for reals ever again, so we took the opportunity to go up. It was just a little ride where they put you up and then bring you on down, but it was still really cool. Max thought it was strange, mostly because of the fire. It was a fun day!
George ran way fast! He did it in just under 25 minutes! Good job babe!
