Ducks and cute kids

This last week has been tough with Max. Everyone tells me that the terrible two's get better...if they don't we will not be having more than 2 children. Luckily, we have had some good times too. We got to go to the park and on walks a lot last week. I'm loving the nice weather, I just wish I could count on it to stay. We love our new jogging stroller and the kids seem to enjoy it too. We took it on a walk between conference sessions and fed some ducks. It was so fun to watch Max throw bread to them. He loved it!
Max has shown a little bit of interest in potty training over the past months. I haven't pushed it at all because of the new baby, but we decided to let him pick out some underwear and see what that did. He picked out some pirate underwear and was pretty excited to wear it. I think he liked wearing it instead of a diaper, but he doesn't quite understand the whole concept. He went once, but then had an accident. We decided not to push it, but it was still a good try. Until we figure out how to handle the constant tantrums, I don't think Max will be potty trained anyway. I don't know if I have enough patience to go that far.
pirate underwear!
Lauren has been smiling so much lately. I wish I could capture a good one on camera. Someday.
5 weeks old
I painted her toenails. It was way harder than I thought!
We really enjoyed watching General Conference. I was really uplifted and given an extra boost to be a better mom and to care for and strengthen my little family. Motherhood has been very hard the last little while, but I want to do my best to be steadfast and immoveable. I hope I can keep my enthusiasm to do better and that we can get life figured out. I am so thankful for our church leaders that are so inspired to speak about things that I need to hear. The spirit truly is an amazing thing!
I am so thankful to be the mother of these adorable children!

Easter and 1 month old!

It has been a busy week! Well, if we have ANYTHING going on it becomes a busy week for me. Kind of sad that a dentist appointment can do that. Anyway, so I went to the dentist and have a clean bill of health. I used to get cavities all the time, but I am now a firm believer that flossing saves your teeth. I can say that I have flossed everyday for about 2 years with the exception of the day I had Lauren, but that's a pretty good excuse.
He's so stinkin cute!
I officially resigned from working at Utah Valley Pediatrics, which hasn't really hit me yet. I haven't worked much in the last 6 months, but it will be weird to not ever work there again. I really enjoyed my time working there and made some great friends!
Easter was great. I loved watching Max find eggs. He got so excited when he found one and he would empty the contents onto a little pile. We re-hid them for him so he could find them again. When he found them he opened them and said, "there's not food in there." It was funny. He got a new backpack and some crayons and coloring book. He has loved it! My favorite part of Easter was going to church all together for Sacrament meeting, it had been over a month! I also liked telling Max the Easter story with a little Easter egg activity. We went up to Draper for dinner and got to see some family. It was a good time.

Lauren is officially 1 month old! She is such a great baby! She just started smiling in response to us and she has a beautiful smile. I love it! She rarely cries and just likes to hang out. She is just over 8 pounds now and a whopping 22 inches long! She is in the 90th percentile for her height and 20th for weight. She is already fitting into her 0-3 month pjs and there's not much wiggle room left. It will be interesting to see if she keeps growing like this. She still has her umbilical cord, which is kind of crazy! The doctor cut away some of it because it was like a cork and the lower part wasn't drying out. It's looking better now. She hates being swaddled but she doesn't complain too much. She just grunts and tries her hardest to get her arms out. She likes to sleep with them up by her head. It's pretty funny.

She got an arm out
We got a new washer and dryer. They are awesome! Our laundry area looks like a spaceship now. It was funny, George and I were watching it do a rinse+spin on some towels to see if it was working and there was no water going into the machine and the towels were just spinning. We were amazed that it worked without water having no knowledge of how a new washing machine worked. Then we realized that we didn't turn the water back on. It was pretty funny.

We also got a double jogging stroller and it is a beast! It seems like a great one though and we have already enjoyed going on walks with it. You can definitely tell which side has the bigger kid!
Max refuses to sleep during quiet time, but every once in a while he zonks. This is how I found him the other day.
