2 year old stats

Max is a very energetic little boy! He is happy and playful most of the time, with his periodic meltdowns. Here are a few things Max is doing these days:
-he loves to sing songs and makes requests in the car. He says "I am a child of God, hear it". But he loves a large variety of songs.
-he can count to 12
-he knows most of his colors. He struggles with yellow and purple.
-he loves singing his ABCs and can recognize all of them. He knows most of their sounds too.
-he has the best memory
-he loves doing puzzles, building with blocks, playing with cars and trains. His cars even have names that he has made up. He is very good at jigsaw puzzles
-he loves his animals he sleeps with. He sleeps with Toby the monkey, Big Kevin the zebra, William the elephant, Carrot the aardvark, Pooh and Tigger. Luckily they are all small or this may be a bit overwhelming.
-He sleeps in a big boy bed.
-he loves playing with his daddy
-he speaks really well and I love having little conversations with him.
-he only weighs about 23 lbs. and is about 33 inches tall. He is still just tall and skinny, only in the 10th percentile for weight and about 30th for height.
Max is so much fun and is such a smart little boy!

Two years old, already?

Max turned 2 on Saturday and I can't believe my little turkey is that old. We had a really fun day starting with pancakes for breakfast. We headed to the rec center and Max got to play with some balls in the racquetball court. He had so much fun running and screaming and growing the balls! After that we went swimming, which is always a treat for Max. When we got home we decided to open some presents. We quickly realized that we got Max way more gifts than he needed. He started to open gifts and only got past the first 3, which were little cars. Throughout the rest of the day, he slowly opened more and more gifts.

He didn't care about any of the rest of the gifts

Later that night, we had some family over for pizza and cake. Max was definitely spoiled. When he opened one of his gifts, it was winnie the pooh and tigger stuffed animals. He pulled them out and then said "where's piglet?" it was so funny. He loved having everyone over and it was a wonderful day!

Thankful

I have so many things to be thankful for! How can one person be so blessed? I have an amazing husband that works so hard to provide for us and make it so I can be home with our sweet little boy. George is my best friend and I'm so lucky to be his wife. I love watching him interact with Max and to see Max try to be just like his daddy. I am so grateful for Maxwell. He is such a smart, adventurous, and rambunctious little boy. He has such a tender heart and spirit. I'm amazed by how many things he knows and remembers. He reminds me everyday how lucky I am to be his mom. There are definitely hard days, but they make the good days even better. I'm thankful for his birth into our family 2 years ago. He will forever be our thanksgiving turkey! I am also thankful to have a sweet little girl on the way. She has already added such a sweet spirit to our home. I love feeling her wiggle and look forward to having her here with us. Max is going to be such a great big brother and I know George will love having a little girl, even through all the pink.
I am thankful for wonderful families that support us in so many ways. I am thankful for the gospel in our lives. Without it, I don't know where I'd be. I am thankful for the temple and the wonderful blessings I've received there.  I love that Max loves to see the temple and loves to sing songs and learn about Jesus.
I am thankful to live in this free country and for parents that always taught me how important that really is. My mom is the most patriotic person in know! I'm thankful for my in-laws and their generosity. They have welcomed me with open arms into their family and I'm so grateful for their family.
There are so many other things but I think I've made a good start.

Called to serve

Our niece Ashlee has been called to serve in the Montreal Canada mission, French speaking! We are so excited for her to have this new adventure. We will really miss her, it's been so fun to have her down in Provo while she's been in school. I think it's so cool that she decided to go on a mission. She really jumped on the challenge after hearing of the age change. I'm so proud of her! I'm sad she won't be here when we have our baby, she leaves February 6th. She already rocks the language because she's been taking french for 7 years!

We are so excited for you Ashlee!

We love when friends come to visit!

A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of having the company of Hayley and her adorable boy, Canyon. Max had so much fun playing with Canyon and I loved catching up with Hayley. It was so fun to see them!

Trip to St. George

We took a little weekend trip down to St. George at the beginning of November for a baby blessing. We had lots of fun playing at the pool and in the room. Max didn't love being cooped up and always wanted to leave the room, but it was still fun. We enjoyed being with the family and seeing grandma and grandpa Buckley. We also had fun visiting the temple and other cool sites around the town. All in all, a great little trip.
