6 years!

George and I celebrated our 6th anniversary on Friday. We went to the Provo Temple and did sealings. My mom gave me some family cards and it was really cool to be able to do this wonderful work for our ancestors. The spirit was really special as we were sealed for 2 families and 1 couple. It was the perfect way to celebrate our anniversary.

We are going to have a "weekend getaway" next weekend and Max and Lauren are going to hang out with grandma and their aunties. It's going to be awesome! I am so thankful for George, he is a great husband and father and I'm lucky to be his wife!

X-rays, Elder Holland and fun kids

Max decided to jump from the 4th or 5th stair up and hurt his foot. He was limping all day and had a weird bump so I was worried it was broken. I took him in to get an x-ray and he was so cute. It was normal and there was no break. While we were waiting for the results we spotted Elder Holland and decided to go meet him. Max recognized him from TV. He and his wife were nice to let us talk to them and we shook his hand and left. They said Max looked like a future missionary. I'm sure he only thought we were a little bit crazy. haha. (Yes, the picture below is a little bit of a stalker-type picture. Or it's proof haha)

Max and Lauren love to dress up and we caught it. They are so funny! Lauren is just as happy with her tutu and necklaces and baby doll as she is with some cars and a cowboy hat. She and Max love to play together and I love it too! I love seeing the love they have for each other. I'm happy to know they have each other's backs.

Winter cabin trip

We went to the cabin the day after Christmas and all seemed well with the weather. We got up the canyon and got all dressed and started heading to the cabin. The weather started to get uglier and the visibility was low. There was a lot of powder and we kept getting stuck. We were about halfway to the cabin when we got really stuck and didn't know how we would get to the cabin. George didn't think it was scary, but I was a little bit scared. We were stuck in the cold and I was worried about our kids being cold and grandma didn't have snowpants on. It was scary to think about freezing! We said lots of prayers and ended up being rescued by a group of men. I will forever be grateful for those men!
When we got to the cabin, it took a long time to defrost and the generator was dead. Lucckily we had a warm cabin with gas heaters and lamps. It was roughing it as far as the cabin is concerned. I actually liked it.
The next day we ate breakfast and then packed up. I felt like we should've stayed at the cabin for a week considering how hard it was to get there, but we had to get back. Lauren had gone though most of her diapers in a short amount of time so we couldn't stay long, plus we had to be back for church. The weather was much better and we didn't have a problem getting back to the cars. I rode with the kids in the pod and Lauren fell asleep. It was an interesting trip to the cabin, but as great as it always is. Lots of fun to be with family!

snow clothes are the cutest!

"I'm ready to go!"

Busted!
She LOVES the little things she finds at the cabin
Cabin sauna/warmest room in the house

Trying to stop Lauren from running around so we could warm her up.
"Katie, can I borrow your light? Sure. Thanks, see ya!" Max kept stealing the only light they had on the loft. haha

New Years eve!

We went to Lisa's for New Years Eve and it was great! It's nice to let the kids loose and visit with the adults. Lisa is a great host and we had lots of great food and a fun photo booth. Max even made his own confetti for the occasion. Lauren went to bed at about 9:30 and Max stayed up until midnight. We didn't spend the night so we headed home after ringing in the new year. It was a great night!
I just thought this was funny. I was sick and she came into my room like this. ?

Max drew a picture of Harry Potter

This is Max as Harry Potter, with Hedwig and Fang

Lauren got this from her cousin. It is the biggest and softest kitty ever. She loves it!

It's the same size as her. Just as sassy too!

Christmas festivities

On Christmas Day, we woke up and got ready because we would be going to my parents house and thhen going to the cabin. Max came in and had no idea that it was a special day. He just wanted to go down and take a link off his chain. When we looked out the window, we saw the greatest Christmas gift was a whole lot of snow! I had seen it earlier because I can't sleep on Christmas Eve, never have been able to. Max kept saying it would be Christmas when it snowed and he was right! We finally went downstairs and Max and Lauren were so excited! I wish we had more time to open presents and didn't rush, but they still had fun. Max wanted to open present after present and Lauren didn't care about opening presents, she just wanted to play with her baby. We went over to Nana and Granddad's and had lots of fun there. Lauren didn't seem like she felt very good, but we enjoyed visiting. We found out we weren't going to the cabin that day so we spent some extra time there. We came home and enjoyed watching the snow fall. Grandma and Grandpa and Katie, Molly and Doug came over to visit. They played songs for us and visited. As they were leaving, Lauren threw up all over me! I didn't know what to do. George cleaned her up and I sat and had no idea where to start. Poor girl!
George and I finished the night with a few games of Mario cart. Strange day, but good.
