Darla and Brady

Darla and Brady got married on June 22nd. It was a beautiful wedding at the Draper Temple. It was a cool experience to have this be the 2nd time we were in the sealing room with Darla, the first being the time we witnessed her and Mayce being sealed to our family. It was also fun to have Brother Alsop, a family friend, perform the ceremony. Katie was nice enough to watch Lauren while we were there. The reception was in Mark's yard and it was amazing! They are so great at making the great outdoors even more beautiful!
It's crazy that my nieces and nephews are growing up and getting married and going on missions! It's a wonderful time for our family! I'm so excited for all of them, especially because this special time in their lives means they get to attend the temple. It's been wonderful to be in the temple so much this month with these great kids! This month we have been to the temple 4 Saturdays doing sessions with Andrew, Justin, Zach and Darla, attending Darla and Brady's sealing and Cami and Justin's sealing. It's been awesome!

3 months old and camping fun!

Lauren is 3 months old today (June 1)! She is such a sweet and calm baby. She loves to smile and goes instantly from frown to smile. She loves to watch her brother and I’ve loved to see the relationship they have already formed. The other day something spooked Max and he ran right over to Lauren and said that she was scared too. It was so sweet. Lauren giggled a little bit the other day which was adorable! Mostly we just say that she is amazing and we love having her here!
Max is a growing boy too! I swear he learns something new each day and surprises me with how smart he truly is. He is definitely a 2 year old and has a new-found love of climbing and exploring. Figuring out our emotions is a daily struggle, but luckily being happy is often one of those emotions. He is so sweet with his sister and I can tell they are going to be great friends! (Hopefully they don’t conspire against me!) Max is hilarious and is my favorite little boy in the whole world!
Max and George went to a father and sons campout with our ward. Max loved setting up the tent and wearing a little headlight. They sat by the "bum"fire and had a great time. Max was probably the youngest there. It was pretty cold, but it sounds like they had a fun time!

This is going to be a busy month with lots of temple trips and family and 2 weddings! It’s going to be great!

2 months and May

At Lauren’s 2-month appointment she weighed just less than 10 lbs. which is like the 15th percentile and was a whopping 23 ¾ inches long, putting her in the 95th percentile for length! We have one long and skinny and healthy girl! She was super sad after getting shots and it broke my heart to see her in pain when she would kick her legs, but she was a champ and got over it pretty quick. She is an awesome eater and loves to kick her legs and flail her arms. We love it!

Mother's Day with my favorite kids! I am so blessed! I had to bribe Max to take these pictures with me though...cost me 3 jelly beans!

Swimming at the new rec center. It's awesome!

Memorial Day

Lauren's blessing day!

We blessed Lauren in church on the 19th of May and it was an amazing day! We are so lucky to have such an amazing family. Lauren was perfect and the blessing was perfect. The weather could’ve been slightly warmer, but we were blessed that it wasn’t raining because all weathermen said it would. Heaven truly shined down on us! Max had a blast playing with his cousins. Thank you everyone for spending the day with us! (Thanks for the pictures, Mischele!)

All my exes live in Texas!

George always sings a song that has that line in it. He doesn't have any exes in Texas. So George got to go on a business trip to Austin, Texas at the beginning of May. It was weird to be home alone with 2 kids, but we managed alright. He had fun, but it was a different experience to be somewhere where standards are different and he had to avoid a few cocktail parties. It was a design conference and he learned a lot so it was overall a good trip.

Birthday and aquarium fun

6 weeks old
Ok, so George's birthday was in April, but I'm trying to catch up. George was so excited to have his birthday this year because he wouldn't have to worry about school or homework. He decided to take the day off and so we made our way to the aquarium. We were going to go to the zoo, but it ended up being super cold. Max loved the aquarium! I could tell he was a little wary of certain things, but for the most part he enjoyed it. He still talks about the things we saw there nearly 2 months later. I may even consider getting us season passes because I found out they don't cost that much. We drOk, so George's birthday was in April, but I'm trying to catch up. We stopped at mom and dad's house and mom helped me make a pie crust for George's apple pie. We ordered some yummy pizza and enjoyed our pie! It was a great day!

This octopus was awesome to watch but pretty creepy. You can see the hesitation in Max's eyes.

We have a picture of Max from the first time we came to the aquarium standing next to the penguin on the right and he was shorter than it. He's grown so much!
Max came face to face to sharks and other scary things, but the only thing that truly scared him was found in the gift shop! dun dun dun! And it was a rubber penguin and rubber octopus.
I took this picture so we would remember that Lauren existed at this time because she slept the whole time at the aquarium
George always asks for a pie for his birthday. Thanks for helping me make the crust mom!
