Welcome home!
I was so excited to see my kids but I was worried Lauren had forgotten about me. Max was so excited to see his daddy and Lauren kept giving me hugs and patting my face to make sure I was real. It was funny! She was so sweet and loving. It's hard to not be on vacation but good to be home. We are so blessed to have such loving family to take care of our kids. It was a wonderful trip! Kind of long and yet not long enough. I'm so grateful for technology that allowed us to talk to the kids via FaceTime every day. I think that made it all ok. They really helped each other to get through it.

Last day
We packed up and took pictures and went to the swap meet. Then we had a lot of time to kill. We went to a nasty botanical park lunch at mall food court and Ala Moana beach to watch sail boats. That was really cool. There was an awesome rainbow while they were sailing. It was awesome. We also got to witness a dozen wedding pictures being taken. Kind of a weird spot to get them taken, but to each his own. We actually got to see a couple get married. It was odd. We went and picked up luggage from Maurine. Flew all night but it went pretty quick. We were able to get quite a bit of sleep. When we got home we caught the trax and then front runner train to Provo. What a long and wonderful adventure!
Turns out Lisa and I aren't very good at this game |

Day 7
Started off with kayaking with Dave, Nina, Kim, Mark and Maylene. It was pretty wavey, but fun. We went to Kailua Beach Park and the sand there is amazing! It is the softest sand I've ever felt. Mark totally thought he saw a dolphin or turtle or maybe even a shark out in the water. He jumped in a kayak with Dave and went out to the spot. It turned out to be a rock. We felt silly. Kim did see a sea turtle out there though, so I'm sure something was over there. It was George's birthday. We celebrated before coming to Hawaii, but it was still his special day. We headed to ala moana beach. Then to Pearl Harbor. That's always a sobering experience. We did a tour with headphones. It was very interesting. Turns out there was a battleship called USS Patterson. Cool. Afterwards we got dropped off at Maurine's to see the kids and go on a date with Maurine and Kris. It was so fun and we went to a really cool place called Hale'iwa Joes. We ate way too much but it was fun and delicious! It was so fun to go on a double date with those guys. We've never done it before and I hope we can live close to each other so we can do it again someday! It was a wonderful day! Happy 32nd birthday George! I am so crazy in love with this guy!
My favorite picture of us from the trip. Happy Birthday babe! |
