January

2014 is here and I have a good feeling about this year. This month we celebrated our 5 year anniversary. I am so lucky to be married to such a wonderful man. He takes such great care of us and is such a loving and amazing husband and father. I planned our date this year and we kept it pretty simple. We went to Cubby's for dinner and then went bowling at BYU. Turns out we are pretty awful bowlers, but it was still fun. Then we went to the duck pond and fed the ducks. Apparently they have a wheat intolerance because they were not interested in our bread. The duck pond is where we had our first kiss 6 years ago so it was fun to remember that awkward/awesome moment. We finished the night with a couple of delicious cupcakes from Sweet Tooth Fairy.
We decided to potty train Max this month. We made a plan and had all the supplies we needed. He did really well and is pretty good about #1 in the potty. #2, not so much. I hope that's not a battle we have to fight for long. He understands what he's supposed to do, but has yet to do it. It's literally a bummer. It's amazing how much he's grown though, just in the last few months. He also started Sunbeams and gave his first talk! We forgot to tell him not to volunteer for that kind of stuff. Ha ha. He did great though. He couldn't really see over the podium. He actually "bore his testimony" with George this month too. Our little guy is growing up so fast! He is a sweetheart and so funny. He's also our little sculptor and thinks outside the box. He rarely uses toys for their intended use.
Lauren is growing fast too and her personality shines through more and more every day. She is very loving and silly. She loves to tease Max. She also loves to destroy all his creations, which is sad but what can you do. She hit her 10 month mark at the beginning of this month and it seems like she's learned so many things. She goes up the stairs, but not down which terrifies me. We have pretty awful stairs and I hope she doesn't fall down them. If we can't find her she is most likely going up the stairs. She loves her new skill! She loves food and basically eats everything we eat. It amazes me the 2 teeth can handle what she puts in her mouth. She is a sweet and sassy little lady and we love her to pieces.
Beautiful flowers for our anniversary

I love these three!
