Halloween

We really aren't that into Halloween and to be honest I don't really understand the holiday but oh well. Max has been into pirates lately so we thought that would be the perfect costume for him. It was actually pretty easy to pull together. We went to Nana's for a party and to see all the cousins in their costumes. It turns out, 2 year olds really don't get Halloween and get super spooked by the whole concept. Every time Cody or Spencer would come near Max he would run and hide by me. He was really uncomfortable when he couldn't see peoples faces or if they were wearing elaborate costumes that changed their normal body shape. At first, Bradley's skeleton mask didn't bother him, but later in the evening it made him scream and his poor little heart was pounding. Mark tried to tell him that "bones are funny" and Max just kept saying that over and over again. Poor kid.

We actually didn't end up taking him trick or treating because he scored at our ward trunk or treat and got a ton of candy at George's work "trick-or-treat". It was fun to take him around to people in his office. Max was very polite, but was only interested in the candy. Sometimes he would take more than one and the workers thought it was so cute, which is better than thinking he's a little thief. He had lots of fun getting tons of candy. Luckily he has forgotten about it, so that means I get to enjoy it...ok, I'm not the meanest mom in the world. I'll share it with him.
