Articles of Faith

I started teaching max the articles of faith. I am amazed by how quickly he memorized the 1st and 2nd. Unfortunately those are the 2 shortest. But still, this is one smart boy.

It's a little crazy and hard to hear sometimes, but it's there.

Lauren is one!

I'm one!

I can't believe this sweet little girl is one! She is such a wonderful addition to our family and she brings so much more love to our home.
Here are 12 fun facts about Lauren. She:

• still loves balls!
• eats most foods like a champ, but loves goldfish and noodles. She will only certain things if she can feed them to herself with a fork. She's getting pretty good at feeding herself with a spoon or fork with a little bit of help.
• signs a lot more and it's getting easier to understand what she wants. It amazes me how quickly she's learning to communicate. She signs milk, more, ball, food, all done, and can let us know when she wants us to hold her. 
• loves to give hugs and kisses.
• been standing on her own a lot, but still no steps. 
• can say "quack, quack, quack" when she sees ducks. She mimics sounds really well.
• weighs 15 lbs 11 oz and is 29 3/4 in long. That's the 3rd and 77th percentiles. She's a long skinny girl. I swear she burns off every calorie we put into her
• has the cutest wave ever!
• Max is her best friend. I love to hear him talk so sweet to her and she loves to follow him around.
• This girl is a climber! Max didn't climb much, but Lauren finds every opportunity to climb. She gets into trouble when she tries to hold a ball in each hand and then climb.
• such a tease. She loves to laugh and play!
• always happy and laughing, but has started throwing tantrums when she doesn't get what she wants. She throws her head back. We officially have another toddler on our hands.

A year in pictures

Lauren loves technology, climbing, balls and giving loves. She loves her daddy and brother, but is definitely a mama's girl!

We loved having family over for her birthday. She got lots of fun gifts for her and Max to play with. He loved her birthday just as much as she did.

Lauren was hilarious to watch with her cupcake. She knew she wanted it, but she wasn't quite sure how to go about it. She decided for the face into the cupcake approach. Once she finally got some, she daintily ate it up. Lauren is definitely a little lady.

We love this little girl so much!

It's spring!...wait, it's still February...

We have been LOVING this 50+ degree weather and have found every excuse to go outside and enjoy it. We went to the park as many days as it was warm enough and loved it. It's making me really excited for real spring and summer. Please don't take too long to get here! Utah is full of surprises.

Sleep

Sleep. It's something I take for granted. We were very fortunate that Max and Lauren both slept through the night at about 8 weeks. Unfortunately, Max has been waking up between 3:30 and 5:30 AM. Seriously?!?! Luckily he doesn't bug us too much, but still. He knows that if mom and dad aren't up yet then it's not morning yet. He doesn't go to bed insanely early or anything. It's been so weird. I'm really hoping this stage passes soon.
